The high school students from McCann were here yesterday for a couple of hours to do some heavy and much appreciated yardwork.

They mulched the hosta border next to the driveway and the daylilies around the driveway light. They trimmed so many too-tall branches of the forsythia and huge sections of an ugly entangled vine that they half-filled their pickup truck.

Finally, they moved the giant pile of mulch from the front to the back. Tremendous amount of work.

Shortly after they finished, we got a shower of hail then snow. Jett and I were caught in it briefly. He was a good dog while the students were here.

Ron braved the hail and picked up his med at Walmart and did a small grocery shop.

Jett bit Ron on the arm while they were playing fetch. Overexcited, I guess. Second time this has happened.

I’ve been working on a transaction for MRS.

The minisplit overheated the bedroom. This is not the first time. I contacted an online service that connected me to an HVAC specialist. Aside from turning the unit off then on after a few minutes, I haven’t found a solution.

Not all of it but I had to toss half of it after he chewed a beautiful wheat bread that was given to us at the food pantry. Saved the remains some of which was very good toasted.

It was raining hard this morning, some kind of frozen precipitation for a short while this afternoon, then stopped long enough for Ron and Jett to play fetch around 8:30 this evening.

We had clam chowder for lunch and an every human for themselves supper.

Young people from North Adams came by to offer landscaping services. They are coming back tomorrow to spread mulch and trim the forsythia. I appreciate their initiative in looking for work house to house, especially in the rain.

I found and solved a silly problem with a record update in MRS. Had the same fields in two tables. Wrote a transaction based on a helpful online sample. More testing tomorrow now that I’ll have help with yardwork.

We consolidated trash and trumps and Ron brought the lot to the transfer station along with a bin-full of recyclables. He also picked up Peet’s at BigY but didn’t realize that he failed to get the sale price, so I guess we’ll go back tomorrow.

I added a record to my capecoder.com DNS that is supposed to prevent spoofing.

We were outside for a bit doing yardwork, mostly cleaning up the forsythia pruning. Jett was with us and later went out with Ron for fetch. He saw the boys briefly as well.

We had tortellini and salad for supper.

I won an auction for a knitted winter hat which I need badly, and the cause is a great one: providing housing in Rutland VT to recently incarcerated men and women. Looks like a day trip is ahead.

After a busy day yesterday, Jett is lethargic and threw up earlier this morning as I was trying to decide whether to bring him to “school” or not.

We had avocado toast and fried eggs for breakfast. I vacuumed both sides of the living room. Gorgeous day; spent some time outside with Ron and Jett, who was happy to be outside.

Deleted every product to do with this blog from GoDaddy.

Struggled for hours with email. Turns out I’d reached the 10G limit, upgraded to 50G. Got help from three different engineers at GoDaddy. I’m exhausted. Meanwhile, Ron played with Jett and did some pruning.

Stuffed mushrooms and pizza for supper. Very good!

By this time of night, Jett is better. I gave him a chew yesterday and wonder if that upset his stomach.

Yesterday we did the semi-monthly run to the Pantry barely before noon, then Aldi.

As a result, we have piles of produce, bread, eggs and butter plus cereal, cookies, crackers, chips, pizza, ice cream, wine and even some vegetarian bacon (two packages).

We piled the supper dishes, unrinsed, into the dishwasher for storage. I scraped them and ran it full today.

Jett has been outside quite a bit today, first with me for fetch and while I picked up trumps, then with Ron and me while we had lunch on the deck and then playing fetch with Ron this afternoon.

Dishes and taxes done and bills paid, I worked on the forsythia for an hour this afternoon. It was 82 degrees. The section I trimmed looks nice but more to do tomorrow.

We can’t believe that Hegseth quoted a fake Bible verse from a Quentin Tarantino film at one of his prayer meetings. But he did and we saw the receipts.

Yesterday I removed leaves from the driveway border, picked up a few groceries and dropped off four garden tools to be sharpened at ACE.

Today I finished the Mass taxes and brought the packet to the post office. It was difficult to fill out because the instructions use different definitions of income and require that you hunt and peck for embedded worksheets. I must have gone over the numbers a dozen times.

Jett was sick this morning but bounced back very well. Might have been an upset stomach or constipation. He didn’t have the strength to play fetch with Ron this morning but had a good late afternoon/evening session.

Fierce, brief thunderstorm this evening.

Today I dug up a tall thorny weed from the driveway border and found that its roots were under six cement pavers. Huff, puff.

I made a coffee cake from a mix and a casserole from uncooked pasta, sauce, vegetables, broth and cheese. Boiled eggs.

Yesterday we tried to get garden tools sharpened at the Repair Cafe but there were too many ahead of us. I raked the driveway border. Ron did a transfer station run with paper and leaves. Ron had an intestinal distress accident.

I made a vegetable pot pie with fresh vegetables and sauteed green beans in a sweet and sour sauce. While the oven was hot, baked cinnamon rolls.

Found another tick bite today. I was able to get it all out but it took quite a while to remove the last piece. The doc prescribed Doxycycline at my appointment last week; Ron picked it up today at Walmart.

Ron misplaced his glasses, then found them in the downstairs bathroom, hanging by the sink.

Working on a few MRS changes. Got Ron excused from Jury Duty.

The increased thyroid med is working miraculously. I feel like a different person.

Jett seemed happy to be at his school yesterday. Late start yesterday and today for us. It’s been a tiring week and we’ve been only “approximate humans”.

Doc upped my thyroid med to its old dosage. Started it today.

Jett kept me company while I finished cleaning up the back yard flower beds. What a job. The corner bed with the iris plants was the last. The yard is not perfect but a heck of a lot better than before.

Missed “No Kings” and the get-together afterwards. Cleaned the sunroom door, vacuumed the stairs and with Ron’s help, did the “compost bin test” with Jett, who scored an A Plus.

Did the fasting blood test this morning at the hospital, took a quick shower and met with my primary this afternoon.

The results were emailed at 2:45 but by that time our appointment was over. My fault: I remembered only yesterday afternoon that I needed to get this done. We had a good chat about family and various other non-medical as well as medical topics.

I made a fast ravioli casserole for supper that we both enjoyed. Big enough for three meals and the ingredients were on hand: ravs, sauce, cheese.

Sprayed the plant shoots one more time.
