Robert’s cake is red velvet with strawberry ganache. Ron’s is lemon.
Planted a $3 Agastache Apricot Sprite (Hyssop) in the corner garden.
We didn’t buy any crafts, but Ron, much to his credit, picked up a Mashpee 9 t-shirt and we both purchased lunch.
Last day of the fair, and we got caught in traffic on the way home from the transfer station and Stop & Shop.
Did laundry, changed the sheets.
Grilled chicken and salad for supper.
We saw the first of our three WoodsHole Film Festival selections last night: Harry and Snowman. Terrific film.
Ron cleaned scatter rugs and the bird bath. I washed floors and shredded a pile of leaves.
Hummer feeding at the Bee Balm this morning. Fed the roses yesterday. Miracle-Gro feeding on the veggie, herb and front side gardens this morning.
This is the last day of the Fair for 2015!
Had some work and some fun today.
Brief rainstorm which didn’t amount to much.
Made a little progress on Jim’s project.
Dropped off Cathy’s mailbox key and returned the damaged Krosmaster set.
Helped Laura plant the new veggies. Harvested a cuke and a couple of tomatoes from our garden.
Dig Safe, i.e., OnTarget, was here to mark off the electric and TV cables. National Grid came yesterday to mark off the gas line. They were ordered by the company that was going to remove the Arbor Vitae. Turns out, the big clump is too close to the gas line. The jerk from OnTarget refused to tell me how deep the lines go – “Liability ha ha”.
Went to Woods Hole to see Don Cross play at the Captain Kidd – nice set – and to pick up tix for the film festival.
Train wreck and stuffed cupcake squash for supper. Watched a couple of episodes of Alfred Hitchcock Presents.
Saves about 46 cents in electricity per load.
So far this week alone, we’ve saved almost enough to buy a loaf of bread (Ron just paid $1.50 for a day-old).
Sea elevation for points in Mashpee: Google Map Coordinates
20 Dixon: 21 meters
11 Edgewater: 30 meters
Emma’s: 13 meters
Picked up some fragrant herbs for Laura at the Soares sale: marjoram, thyme, parsley, chocolate mint.
Butterfly bush has started blooming.
Ron is watering the “U” and helped me hang laundry.
Burgers, corn and salad for supper.
We made it through the demo derby. Talked with Ben; he said the field was full. Four days to go.
Picked up Cathy’s mail and visited her; she’s doing very well!
No word from Cindy.
Shredded leaves for mulch over the daffodil bed. Watered the roses. Saw another hummer, this time at one of the feeders.
The last part of Robert’s birthday gift arrived damaged and without the code he needs to use it. Emailed vendor, they were not especially helpful.
Intestinal distress for most of the day.
Went to the Senior Center.
Ron had GMC tow his van to their shop. They gave him a sharp little Hyndai rental.
Since I seem to have found the problem with my eyelids, I passed on the scratch test and rebooked an appointment for a penicillin test. Didn’t realize they aren’t done together.
Stopped in to see Cathy. Got her key to check her mail, which Ron and I did late afternoon after today’s delivery.
Texted and emailed Cindy.
Did some cleaning up/straightening up next to the shed.
Grilled chicken and a fine salad made by Ron for the evening meal “miracle”.
Saw the Wampanoag Lady Hawk Singers at WBNERR. They are among the few all-woman First Nation singing group in the country. We are lucky to have them here!
Paid bills, did some watering.
Ron and I, mostly Ron, put in the A/Cs this morning. It’s been 99° outside here for the last hour or so. Got up to 101°, but low humidity. I put a load of laundry outside to dry.
Laura and I made a field trip to the Bourne transfer station. Has it ever changed since last I was there, it’s like a small city now!
We brought a pretty good load of stuff. Then Laura found two twin beds and frames for Susan. That netted us a whole 20 pounds, or 95 cents in fee!
I did some rearranging of lumber and pallets by our shed. It’s temporary until we get more reasonable temps for working outside.
Ron did some more oak trimming. His van stalled multiple times after leaving GMC.
We brought the oak to Emma’s and got to see “Mr. Toddler”, who waved, smiled and said a few words!
Came back, showered and went to Laura’s to float around in the pool.
Another shower, salad and wine for supper, watched part of “The Secret of Roan Inish”.
