I finished the new garden at Edgewater. Cleaned up the sod, added rocks and watered. I might spread more peat moss.

Ron worked on the deck. He’s doing a great job.

Yesterday morning, Ron tended to the lawn while I held a Question 4 sign in Davisville and visited some O-F friends at their green energy open house. They put a wind turbine in their backyard, and it’s been very effective for them.

After lunch (pork chops), Ron continued work on the porch at Edgewater. I did the transfer station run and picked up some perennials and peat moss at Scenic Roots for the extended grass garden. Also purchased two Wind Flowers for us. Fell in love with this flower two years ago and am thrilled to have found two beautiful plants at Scenic Roots’ two-for-one sale.

We stopped around 5:15 to get ready for the O-F first anniversary potluck/celebration. I took a bunch of photos for the website. The great news is that someone from the group volunteered to take over.

Had some light rain today, enough so we didn’t have to water the new grass.

For the last two days, Ron and I have been working at Edgewater. We bought some new power tools that are helping Ron remove the paint from the railings.

This project has been dragging on for ages, but we’re encouraged that this is the best approach. It’s very time-consuming, unfortunately.

I finally transplanted four of the grasses. Dug up a lot of weeds in the process. Mowed the front lawn yesterday, probably for the last time, since Peter has been cleared to do the work himself.

We got to Highfield so we could see Carolyn’s stone.

Went a little crazy in this place last week. Picked up a pound of coffee, quiche and some cupcakes. All got the “thumbs up” from Ron.

Fuzzbola has developed a taste for sardines. Between us, Ron and I bought about 10 cans, which means that the cat will not eat them any more.

I don’t enjoy this new favorite. They stink.

We’re having perfect rain for new grass.

We decided to punt on Wellfleet; 90 mile round trip in the rain wasn’t real appealing, and Ron’s back is bothering him.

We did get the transfer station run done and picked up some grass seed accelerator at Country Garden. Stopped at Four Seas on the way back for quarts. I did a couple loads of laundry, made chicken hash for lunch and put the accelerator in the re-seeded spots in the front.

I really love this piece, a gift from Peter and Bonnie a long time ago.

Ron spent a good part of yesterday taking care of the lawn here, which is starting to show new grass only ten days after seeding. I went to New Bedford but only for a short time, figured traffic would be bad with the long weekend. There was a half-mile backup at the Bourne around 4:30. Stopped by to visit a colleague’s startup in Centerville.

Candidates I like: Patrick Ellis (state rep); Sheila Lyons and Eric Steinhilber (commissioner); Christopher Sheldon (House of Representatives).

We enjoyed another beautiful lunch at Canalside, then off to Edgewater to aerate, seed and fertilize. Hoping for rain tonight.

Brought the snow blower back to Edgewater. Watering and more cleanup at Dixon; cut down the Hibiscus. Spread Joe Pye weed seeds near the new sprinkler.
