Good meeting with presentation by Chief George Baker on the hopelessness of escaping a catastrophe at Pilgrim.
I made couscous and sausage for supper.

I raked in front of the fence, behind the deck and the vegetable garden.
Have some pretty plants with red leaves coming up: lettuce?
Was going to a Master Gardener’s lecture tonight in Falmouth, but I’m too tired.
In addition, I’m halfway through a pile of laundry.
Ron sorted through more old paperwork today. I picked up KI pills for all of us at the Board of Health. I made chicken soup and pasta salad with the rest of the 5 Buck Cluck.
I am concerned with the amount of cronyism in Massachusetts. I would support a law that prohibits hiring of relatives.
I support public unions.
I am more concerned with the inadequacies of DCF than I am with services to seniors. I have little sympathy for example for women who have never worked but who feel that the rest of us owe them.
We went to Plymouth Superior Court today for what turned out to be the last pre-trial hearing of the P-11. The case was dismissed. There were many sad faces and vows to return to Pilgrim.
We left because Ron was told incorrectly that he had an early afternoon doctor’s appointment. Even though his appointment wasn’t until later, it was just as well that we went home.
Cake, candy and beautiful flowers from Ron! And a great card from Peter.
Ron took us out for dinner to Bobby Byrne’s, one of the few restaurants that offers a free birthday dinner. Today is Tuesday, and they run prix fixe specials for $10.95. Good luck for us, indeed; we split orders of meatloaf and fish and chips, both delicious. Our dinners included soup, coffee and dessert. We were stuffed to the gills and not bankrupt, even though I ordered two glasses of wine at Ron’s insistence.
Best birthday in a very long time!
We saw Dennis Stroughmatt and Rob Krumm at the Woods Hole Community Hall last Sunday. A real “musical odyssey”, and we signed up to volunteer at the Folk Music Society’s next concert.
Ron spent all yesterday going through 30 years of paperwork – and finished!
Ron, Emme and I attended a Fukushima memorial on Falmouth Green today, followed by a potluck at the Moonakis.
I blew off two other events, a Code Camp at NERD and a Startup Weekend. It was a good call, though, I got a tremendous amount done and supported some people I like and respect.
I also did 3 loads of laundry and emptied at least 5 more boxes of Ron’s belongings. I’ve set up most of his books and his DVDs. We think we have all of the CDs. Unfortunately, a lot are missing.
Ron has promised to go through the boxes of paperwork for shredding. That will be fantastic.
No yard work this weekend, there was very little debris from the last storm.
Ron is always cold, and he’s resisted using an electric blanket all winter.
I got sick of listening to his moans and groans last night, so put it on the bed anyway. He loves it.
I called the Fairgrounds today about the damnable snowmobiles and ATVs.
Ron found out that he has a life insurance policy with a waiver of premium. Unbelievable.
We straightened out his banking alerts. He’d set them up incorrectly, so our understanding bank forgave $105 of overdraft charges.
How anyone could be so befuddled about financial affairs is beyond me.
I have an idea of where to put a new garden, in the wet spots in front of the hydrangeas and St. Johnswort. Whether I can afford to do that this year is a whole other matter.
If you have highly acidic soil it can be a good direct soil amendment – common recommendation is 1 lb. for 100 sq. ft
