{"id":857,"date":"2007-10-13T18:32:33","date_gmt":"2007-10-13T23:32:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hendersonbrook.net\/wp\/?p=857"},"modified":"2007-10-13T18:32:33","modified_gmt":"2007-10-13T23:32:33","slug":"autumn-drive","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hendersonbrook.net\/?p=857","title":{"rendered":"Autumn Drive"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This time of the year, it&#8217;s almost a requirement to take at least one site-seeing trip, and today the weather was ideal for a drive.<br \/>\nA friend and I headed out this morning to <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Padanaram\" target=\"_blank\">Padanaram<\/a>, a coastal village in the town of Dartmouth on the South Coast.<br \/>\nWe stopped first at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sidwainer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sid Wainer<\/a>, a first-rate gourmet food store in New Bedford that offers samples of dishes made from their remarkable selection of produce, meats, cheeses and specialty items.<br \/>\nThe little sandwich shop we&#8217;d hoped to find in Padanaram was closed for the season, so we opted for a drive through the village and wound our way through South Dartmouth, passing the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lloydcenter.org\" target=\"_blank\">Lloyd Center for Environmental Studies<\/a> and Russells Mills, which is a gateway to Horseneck Beach.<br \/>\nWe then headed north to <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Acushnet\" target=\"_blank\">Acushnet<\/a>, where we finally found a ice cream shop that was still open; a Halloween decorations clearance sale; and two farm stands.<br \/>\nAltogether a fine day, and a trip well worth taking again.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This time of the year, it&#8217;s almost a requirement to take at least one site-seeing trip, and today the weather was ideal for a drive.
