Too often, Friday night becomes a “throwaway”, and I get mad at myself when that happens.
\nThe main reason is that most of the leisure time activities I enjoy, like yard work or visiting an art gallery, happen during the day. By the time 6 pm comes around, the sidewalks have been rolled up.<\/p>
\nLast night, though, even though I didn’t get home until about quarter of seven, I decided there was enough daylight left to mow the lawn, or, rather, the tangle of weeds that grows in the yard (as a former coworker said years ago, “Who cares? It’s green.”)
\nAn hour later, I was very happy to not have to look at what had been a disgusting mess in both the back and front yards.
\nFather’s Day is next weekend, which means the sales are up my alley: gardening and lawn tools, RoundUp, Miracle Gro, enough to more than justify a trip to one of the local Aubuchons this morning, with maybe a stop for a light brunch.
