One of the funniest bits from “All in the Family” was a goofy argument between Archie Bunker (Carroll O’Connor), the blue collar patriarch, and his radical\/intellectual son-in-law antagonist, Mike Stivic (Rob Reiner), about the order of putting on shoes and socks.<\/p>
\nOne (I don’t remember which) thought that you should put your socks on first, then your shoes.
\nThat way, if there was an emergency and you had to run out of the house, both feet would be covered.
\nThe other thought you should put on a sock and a shoe, then a sock and a shoe.
\nThat way, if there was an emergency, you could hop.
\nI do the latter, sock and a shoe, because at my age, it’s easier to bend over or hoist only twice instead of four times.
\nSo, how do you put on your<\/u> shoes and socks?
