Everything else not only survived, but apparently thrived with all the rain, even though it seems we&#8217;ve had maybe 15 minutes of sun since last weekend.<\/p><p><!--more--><br \/>\nI haven&#8217;t been to a nursery in days, but picked up a nice bargain at one of the local supermarkets, a huge hanging lobelia, marked down to $3.  It&#8217;s suspended from an oak tree branch in the shade garden, and is actually doing quite well.<br \/>\nBesides the pansies and alyssum in the flower boxes, the bachelor buttons are in bloom, especially one by the side of the house which gets full sun most of the day.<br \/>\nAnd that reminds me:  there&#8217;s a plant sale in Osterville in 15 minutes, so I have to get going.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve been amazed at the resilience of the seemingly fragile new-growth spring plants, which withstood a brutal Nor&#8217;easter earlier this week.
