{"id":285,"date":"2005-02-15T17:57:55","date_gmt":"2005-02-15T22:57:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hendersonbrook.net\/wp\/?p=285"},"modified":"2005-02-15T17:57:55","modified_gmt":"2005-02-15T22:57:55","slug":"smack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hendersonbrook.net\/?p=285","title":{"rendered":"Smack"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Executive Summary:<br \/>\nYahoo: good<br \/>\nGoogle: bad<br \/>\nI&#8217;ve read a few of the &#8220;controversial&#8221; excerpts from the blog of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bloglines.com\/blog\/WRJ?subid=6578013\" target=\"_blank\">Mark Jen<\/a>, the person who left Microsoft to take a job at Google and was fired after less than a month of employment &#8211; and as a former HR person, I have NO idea what got his boss&#8217;s knickers in a twist.<\/p><p><!--more--><br \/>\nExample (direct quote):<br \/>\n<i>&#8230;which leads me to one of google&#8217;s most valuable competitive advantages: the ability to get features out the door extremely quickly. this is by far one of the most striking contrasts between google and microsoft<\/i>.<br \/>\nWow, that&#8217;s harsh.  Insubordinate.  Boyoboy, I&#8217;d sure fire anyone who badmouthed MY company in that way.<br \/>\nCompare and contrast to <a href=\"http:\/\/jeremy.zawodny.com\/blog\/archives\/004157.html\" target=\"_blank\">Jeremy Zawodny<\/a> and his civilized chats about the blogosphere with his boss at Yahoo.<br \/>\nAnd I was stupid enough to think that Google were a bunch of good guys.  How could I be SO DUMB?!
