This is turning out to be a pretty good week.
\nThe Senate, including the man-who-should-be-president, John McCain, gave the Bush Administration an “FU” on its latest exercise in right-wing pandering.
\nI had a nice project start-up lunch with a client and afterwards, caught the commuter rail to see the new Boston Conference and Exposition Center yesterday as a Macworld attendee.
\nI think the facility is every bit as nice as Moscone, but the absence of places to eat (and to park) is a nuisance. In decent weather, it’s a nice walk from South Station, though.<\/p>
\nThe show was tiny, and I couldn’t find a single vendor to pitch me about wireless home stereo setups, although one of the guys from Belkin suggested looking at Sound Blaster from Creative Labs.
\nAnother nit: the Iron Chef web dev code shoot-out was on the exhibit floor, where it was difficult to hear. They gave 2nd and 3rd to the sites I liked the best, and I wish the designer I’ve been working with had been able to attend because it would have been interesting to get his “take”.
\nThe MacBrainiac challenge, which was the main reason I went since Peter was the leader of one of the teams, was surprisingly entertaining, even for those of us who aren’t Mac-savvy, and it ended in a tie.
\nSerendipitously, I met the CEO of a .NET company and invited him to give a presentation to the User Group.
\nWish I’d been early enough to hear the presentation on Mac User Groups and that I’d stayed for the “Birds of a Feather” session on AppleScript, but I was nervous about missing connections.
\nThe .NET project is getting excellent reviews. This week’s words of wisdom are “INTEGRATION” and “DESIGN”, maybe we are riding the next wave after all.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
