\nI’m not complaining, mind you. I’m perfectly happy to see fewer cars with Florida license plates and to be able to take left turns without burning gasoline for five frustrating minutes.
\nI’m glad that the sullen teenaged supermarket cashiers have gone back to school, and that they’ve been replaced by polite middle-aged workers with smiles on their faces.
\nI’m delighted that I don’t have to stand in line at Dunkin’ Donuts to redeem the gift card generously provided by the service department at Hyannis Toyota.
\nWhich reminds me, I never did blog about Hyannis Toyota’s terrific customer service: they moved their service department to a new building, complete with internet-connected workstations, snacks and a luxurious waiting area.
\nLast time I was there, I forgot to redeem a coupon for 10% off and a DD gift card.
\nIt only took one phone call: they credited me for the 10% and mailed the gift card.
\nI’ve actually enjoyed the holiday lull between Christmas and New Year’s. From the type of activity on the blogosphere, it seems most of the people I know have excused themselves from their usual hyper-activity and over-competitiveness. People have either been on vacation with their families or doing social things with their friends. It’s been a good time to take a breath.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
