{"id":10935,"date":"2016-10-16T12:34:20","date_gmt":"2016-10-16T17:34:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hendersonbrook.net\/?p=10935"},"modified":"2016-10-16T12:34:20","modified_gmt":"2016-10-16T17:34:20","slug":"henry-viiis-wound","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hendersonbrook.net\/?p=10935","title":{"rendered":"Henry VIII&#8217;s Wound"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve been thinking about people who have lost a leg and how hard they have to work to do even small things, and today I&#8217;m also thinking about Henry VIII, who suffered for many years with a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/uk\/this-britain\/the-jousting-accident-that-turned-henry-viii-into-a-tyrant-1670421.html\">jousting wound<\/a> that never healed properly.<\/p><p>After showering, I took off the dressing; the odor was horrible, like nothing I&#8217;ve smelled before.<\/p><p>The wound had been oozing, and I think the awful smell was from dead skin.  I cleaned it as well as I could.
