You’re not going to believe Sanders’ latest smear target: Emily’s List, the organization that’s been supporting pro-choice Democratic women candidates since 1985.<\/p>

This, from Politico:<\/p>

“In his email for Lucy Flores, a House candidate in Nevada, Sanders writes that her story \u201cwill probably anger you, but hopefully, it will also inspire you to take action in support of\u201d Flores. The Vermont senator writes that EMILY\u2019s List endorsed Flores when she ran in 2014, calling her an \u201cinspiring community leader.\u201d But, he said, that changed in the 2016 cycle: \u201cBut then Lucy Flores endorsed our political revolution before the Nevada caucus, and everything changed. EMILY\u2019s List decided to endorse a different person in Lucy\u2019s House race this time around. So I want to support Lucy like she\u2019s supported us, because we stand together,\u201d writes Sanders.<\/span><\/p>

“But EMILY\u2019s List does, in fact, back some candidates who have endorsed Sanders. And that includes Pramila Jayapal, a House candidate in Washington who also got a round of fundraising emails from Sanders on Monday \u2014 though with a message that didn\u2019t mention EMILY\u2019s List. The group also backs Vermont gubernatorial candidate Sue Minter, another Sanders supporter.
\n\u201cBernie Sanders believes the political revolution is built by calling women leaders \u2018unqualified\u2019 and calling abortion a \u2018social issue.\u2019 So it\u2019s not surprising at all that he doesn\u2019t get what we do and has resorted to these false, disingenuous attacks,\u201d said Marcy Stech, the group\u2019s communications director. \u201cPerhaps if Sanders stuck to issues, not insults, he\u2019d realize that electing pro-Democratic women is, in fact, revolutionary. The key difference is, we don\u2019t just talk about it \u2014 we know how to get it done.\u201d<\/p>
